Photoshop is an essential skill, most know the basics, cutting & pasting, the marquee tool (selections) and the path tool. Photoshop is extremely deep, I once knew nothing about Ps, now I consider myself a Ps expert, or very close to a Ps expert, but even someone with my knowledge I do tend to forget, and hit the forums only to say, DOH.  Those who know how to make Layer Masks, Layer Vector Masks, Alpha Masks, Smashing magazine posted an excellent article on keyboard cuts (short-cuts) that makes life, quicker, it won’t make learning Ps easier 🙂
